A Blue Perspective: Abstract Repetition

I'm a huge fan of dvdp's work. The limited colour palette and hypnotic repetition make for a very lost afternoon.

When I saw his latest post I just couldn't resist remixing it, so here's the result:

Abstract Repetition

Made in Processing.

This is certainly hypnotic, for some reason it reminds me of the eyes of the python Kaa in 'The Jungle Book'. but without the colors of course.

Pretty cool. Was this done programmatically and saved as a gif?? I'd hate to see you going crazy moving little squares in photoshop...

Yep, it was done programmatically in Processing, then I manually composited it to an animated GIF in Photoshop.

processing is so robust! My brother-in-law is an architect and he was able to use processing.org for a graphical representation of a city transportation layout. He also added other 'layers' representing other city services as well. Really cool stuff, nice application of processing!

I just wanted to let everyone know how amazing it is when viewed full width and centered vertically while in the browser's full screen mode. For me: Opera 11/Win 7 - right click/view image, F11 for full screen, ctrl/mouse wheel up to 340% and scroll for vert centering. Spectacular! :D
